Abstract: One of the best known landmarks in Delhi is the Jantar mantar literally meaning magical or mysterious instruments. It is actually an Astronomical observatory and consists of yantras or instruments. The Observatory was founded in AD l724 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II of Jaipur, during the reign at emperor Mohammed Shah.
