The properties of the Alfvén compressional waves are discussed for a cold plasma when the magnetic field is inclined at an angle to the interface where there is a sharp change in the densities of the plasma. The condition for the existence of surface waves in terms of the densities is derived. This is in contrast to the incompressible Alfvén surface waves which exist at any density discontinuity.en
