Abstract: A promising possibility which has yet to be considered with a view to furthering understanding of the cosmological constant problem is the use of torsion in a framework such as that of Einstein-Cartan theory: as would be natural in considering the gravitational contributions of particles with spin. It is presently shown that the recently suggested energy-dependent torsion-coupling constant can make the spin contributions of matter sources sufficiently large to cancel the cosmological constant term at all stages of the early universe, from the Plank epoch onward.
