A brief review of the recent work done on Type-I radio emission in the Indian Institute of Astrophysics is presented. The most plausible low frequency turbulence needed to generate the type-I bursts is shown to be ion-sound turbulence. A method is presented to evaluate the coronal magnetic field using type-I radio emission data.en
