Abstract:
Diurnal ranges in the horizontal and vertical force at Kodaikanal, situated about 170 km north of the dip equator in South India, have been worked out for quiet and disturbed days at periods of low as well as high solar activity. The maintenance of the range on disturbed days at the same value as on quiet days is discussed. The disturbance diurnal variations (S/sub D) in H and Z at this station have also been computed and are discussed in relation to equatorial electrojet during magnetically disturbed periods.
