dc.description.abstract Spectrophotometric observations of the hot Si star HD 34452 = HR 1732 obtained over a duration of four years, from 1979 to 1983, are presented. The period of variation in the broad-band feature centred around λ5200 is found to be 2.4660 day and the variation curve shows a double hump. This matches closely with the one found earlier by Deutsch (1947) for the variation of the He I line intensities and by a few more authors subsequently, for several other spectral features. The variation of the 5200 feature, while being in phase with other spectral variations, is in antiphase with the light variation. The elements of variation are I5200(Max I) = (HJD 2444148.236±0.002) + (2.4660E±0.0001). en
