The majority of the metallic lines in the solar spectrum are shifted to the red when compared with their positions in the electric are. There are, however, many exceptions. In the tables at the end of this paper I give the results of some comparisons of are spectra (chiefly iron) with the spectrum of the centre of the sun`s disc for the study of these exceptions |
