Abstract: One of the unique features of Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) on board Aditya-L1 mission is spectropolarimetric observations in coronal emission line centred at 10747 Å. Spectropolarimetric observations at 10747 Å helps in understanding coronal magnetic feld topology and Line of Sight (LOS) feld strength measurements. Coronal magnetic feld measurements provide useful information about the drivers for space weather. To carry out the polarimetric observations a dual beam spectropolarimeter is employed in the VELC. Spectropolarimeter package consists of a Quarter Wave Plate (QWP), Polarizing Beam Displacer (PBD) and Half Wave Plate (HWP). Current manuscript provides an overview of the design of spectropolarimetric channel of VELC and the realization aspects.
