Abstract: A solar eclipse with a totality of a rather long duration took place on 2 July 2019. The path of totality started east of New Zealand in the southern Pacific Ocean and passed over parts of Chile and Argentina. The maximum eclipse occurred over the Pacific Ocean where the totality would last 4m 32s.
