The Haselgrove equations for radio-ray propagation in an anisotropic medium are used to determine the degree of circular polarization (dcp) of the low-frequency thermal radio emission from the outer solar corona with a magnetic field. The variation of dcp with frequency and magnetic field strength is investigated. It is found that weak magnetic fields can be detected by measuring the dcp at low frequencies.en
