Abstract: Neutron stars are extremely compact stellar objects, with density that of atomic nucleus and higher. The composition of neutron stars is believed to be mostly neutrons, with admixtures of protons, electrons and perhaps hyperons in the core. We discuss the behaviour of hadronic matter at high densities, with emphasis on the constraints on the equation of state using observational data.
