In this paper we have constructed a quasi two-dimensional model for solar prominence, which is an both magneto-hydrostatic and thermal equilibrium. It is found that the nature of the solution depends on the value of temperature at the center of the prominence (To) and the value of R (the ratio of magnetic pressure at the center of the prominence (pm) to the value of total pressure inside the prominence (C1) The effect of variation of To/sub1 C/sub1 and R on the components of the magnetic field is also discussed.-
