We consider the production and emission of high energy particles from the sub millisecond pulsar, newly discovered in SN 1987A. We also discuss the emission of very high energy gamma rays and other electromagnetic radiation from the pulsar surface and magnetosphere including possible pleirons and cavities. Constraints are put on some of the current models of particle acceleration in pulsars. The evolution of such pulsars and their contribution to the energy cosmic ray background is studied.en
