Abstract: The effects of gradients of temperature and expansion velocities on Doppler widths is investigated, and the emergent profiles of lines in different spherically symmetric media are calculated. The variations of the source function as well as the velocity changes along the radius are specified, and the calculated profiles show an interesting feature of broadening. It is noted that the density of the radiation field does not change the profile characteristics when T(r) is aobut r exp -2 and r exp -3.
