Abstract: The relaxed states of Alfvénic turbulence, represented through the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation, are investigated by invoking the differential dissipation of the first three invariants and by the inverse energy cascade during four-wave interactions. We conclude that Alfvénic turbulence relaxes to a state with soliton type structures which can become the ‘constant |b|’ (magnetic field) force-free state.
