Abstract: | Conceptual and observational issues involved in using binary stars for tests of theories of gravity are discussed. Individual binary star systems that offer the most suitable opportunities for such testing are examined, and difficulties associated with claims that certain binary pulsar observations fit theoretical predictions are reviewed. The approximate procedure that is followed by theoreticians in dealing with the strong gravity case is considered |
