dc.description.abstract	Photographs of Comet Halley were obtained using the 1-m telescope of the Vainu Bappu Observatory, Kavalur, during the 1985-86 apparition, and astrometric measurements carried out. The details of the observations and the measurement technique adopted are given. The observed apparent positions of the comet are compared with the predicted values. The results agree well with the revised predictions	en
