Abstract:
Microquasars provide a unique laboratory to study the accretion process in a compact object, coupled to the ejection of matter in the form of jets. In this thesis we provide a phenomenological perspective on the accretion- ejection mechanism based on the multi-wavelength observational features cov- ering long term evolution of various sources exhibiting apparently diverse types of characteristics, with special emphasis on the enigmatic X-ray binary system Cygnus X-3
