dc.description.abstract	Photographs of Comet Halley were obtained using the 1-m telescope of the Vainu Bappu Observatory, Kavalur, during the 1985-86 apparition, and astrometric measurements carried out. The details of the observations and the measurement technique adopted are given. The observed apparent positions of the comet are compared with the predicted values.
