Abstract: The Astronomical Society of India (ASI) is pleased to publish the second volume of its Conference Series, which contains the Proceedings of the first Asia-Pacific Solar Physics Meeting, held at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru, India, from 21st to 24th March 2011. The main aim of this meeting was to foster co-operation and collaboration in solar physics within the Asia-Pacific region. This initiative to establish an equivalent of the American Astronomical Society Solar Physics Division and the European Solar Physics Division is a welcome one. This volume edited by Arnab Rai Choudhuri and Dipankar Banerjee contains contributions by many eminent solar physicists covering a wide range of solar physics research, and will be valuable for those working in the field.
