Abstract: Mars has exited generations of people and it was long theorized that life existed on the Red Planet. Comic books have always pictured Martians, but alas till date no life has been found on the planet. Planetary scientist professor Sujan Sengupta from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, spoke exclusively to NDTV's Science Editor Pallava Bagla explaining how the conditions of the Red Planet are very hostile for the existence of life on Mars, but he seeks more data from below the surface of the Red Planet to come to conclude if Mars is really barren.
