dc.description.abstractThis includes the announcement made in the journal Monthly Notices of Royal Astronomical Society regarding his election as a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, a letter proposing his name for the membership and another letter from P.R. Chidambara Ayyar accepting the fellowship. The copies last two letters were obtained by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics archives from the Royal Astronomical Society.-
