The Global Oscillations Network Group (GONG) project to study the internal structure and dynamic of the sun is discussed. The GONG project will measure waves that penetrate throughout the sun's core. Power spectra of the monthly average transparency for each calendar month were obtained and analyzed. The resulting clear and dark time distributions and monthly average extinction coefficients and transparency power spectra are shown and discussed. The various possible networks from the candidate sites participating in the GONG project are compareden
